The Social Committee decorates The Lodge for Christmas, and a fair number of owners in the 460 homes around it decide their own front elevation ought to keep up. That’s where we come in. Four Seasons at El Dorado Hills Christmas light installation is for people who like the look and have no interest in standing on an aluminum ladder to get it.
Flat ground, low eaves, quick work
Most of our El Dorado Hills jobs involve a slope. This one doesn’t. Four Seasons sits on level ground in the southwest part of town, a mile or two from Town Center, and it was built by one builder, K. Hovnanian, between 2004 and 2009. A lower roofline, common in 55+ communities like this, means two things for lights. The job goes fast. And the lights sit close to eye level, so sloppy work shows. A sagging run or a cord draped across a window is right there at the sidewalk.
So we get fussy. Every bulb on the eave points the same direction. Cords drop at a corner or behind a downspout. Clips hold to the gutter lip or the roof edge, whichever your home has, with no nails and no staples anywhere near the fascia. If you know your floor plan series (Alpine, Wildflower or Trails), bring it up when you ring (530) 457-4771. It helps us picture the front before your photos arrive.
What Four Seasons at El Dorado Hills Christmas light installation looks like on a compact lot
Lots here are tidy and not large. A display that suits them is clean and close to the house.
- Roofline lights along the front eave and up the entry gable. On a single front-facing garage gable, that one triangle of light does a lot.
- Pillar wraps on porch posts or entry columns, wound evenly so the spacing looks deliberate.
- A lit wreath centered above the garage door or beside the entry.
- Lit garland on the door frame, fastened with removable hooks.
- Tree wraps on a front-yard tree that belongs to your lot. Trunk and lower limbs, snug but not tight.
- Stake lighting beside the front walk, placed so nobody catches a toe and no sprinkler head gets buried.
We haul in the strands, the clips, the timers and the cords. You buy nothing and store nothing afterward.
If a wreath is all you want, the wreath hanging page is worth a read. Friends in the newer 55+ neighborhood by the business park? We cover Heritage El Dorado Hills too, along with gated Blackstone down Latrobe Road, and our El Dorado Hills page has the wider picture.
The Four Seasons Owners’ Association and its rules
Four Seasons is gated and governed by the Four Seasons Owners’ Association, with an on-site manager from FirstService Residential. Its governing documents and rules pages are members-only, so we haven’t read the holiday decoration rule and we’re not going to make one up. You can. Log in or ask at the office, find out what window the current rules give you, call (530) 457-4771, and we’ll hold our install and our removal to it.
Two things we’re careful about here. The gardens around The Lodge, the two-acre community garden, and any street tree or planting the association keeps up are not ours to touch. And the display goes dark by late evening, because neighbors are close.
A sidewalk photo is usually enough
We quote off a phone conversation at (530) 457-4771 or a couple of pictures. A straight-on shot from the sidewalk is usually enough for a home here, and the contact page takes it if you’d rather not text. We’ll also need gate entry arranged for the day we hang and the day we remove.
January, and the bins you won’t be lifting
After New Year’s we return and strip it all: lights, clips, cords, stakes. It leaves with us. No totes on a garage shelf, no reel of tangled wire to sort next fall. If a strand quits early, one call to (530) 457-4771 gets it relit. Want the same layout next year? Say so in January and we’ll write it down.
Four Seasons at El Dorado Hills: common questions
What dates does Four Seasons allow holiday lights?
The Four Seasons Owners’ Association keeps its rules behind the member login, which leaves us unable to quote them. Check your current rules or ask the on-site manager, and we’ll set both of our dates to match.
I can’t get on a ladder anymore. Do I need to do anything at all?
Arrange gate entry and tell us where your outdoor outlets are. Hanging, timer setup and the January removal are all on our side of the list.
Will you decorate the tree in the strip by my driveway?
Only if it’s on your lot. Trees and plantings the association maintains stay untouched unless it’s the association that calls us.
I know my floor plan series. Does that help with a Four Seasons quote?
Yes. Alpine, Wildflower or Trails tells us roughly what the front looks like before your photos arrive. A sidewalk shot settles the rest.
